We (myself and my mother) have been breeding and showing dogs for 25 years and have produced 65 Champions thus far - 8 of them Skye Terriers. We are long-time members in good standing of the Canadian Kennel Club and have received our 20 year pins.
We live on the edge of a village of under 100 people and have a half acre. We both also enjoy gardening and 1/4 acre of the property has been landscaped with trees and perennials for both us and the dogs to enjoy. (And no... the dogs weren't any help in the gardening at all!)
Our Skyes live in the house with us and any puppies born are always raised in the house and are handled constantly from birth. We believe proper socialization begins the day they are born.
Our pet puppies are placed on non-breeding contracts and they must be spayed or neutered by six months. Health and temperament are guaranteed in writing and, if at any point an owner is unable to keep their Skye, we must be notified at once so we can help find a suitable new home. The owner is not permitted to sell or give their Skye away without our permission. We will take the dog back if a suitable home cannot be found.
